ELENA and NEAPOLITAN REPUBLIC

Elena has been collaborating with our project since the beginning and defines it as follows:

"Neapolitan Republic is like a very special pair of glasses: it lets you see, savor, and understand the city through different eyes. It lets you discover the magic of Naples in a whole new, colorful, and magical way!"

And his vision of Naples and the Neapolitan Republic is fully expressed in the 3 illustrations he created exclusively for us.

Giuseppina Gazineo

Giuseppina Gazineo

Giuseppina Gazineo, graphic and visual designer.

He tells us at Neapolitan Republic that he comes from the moon, perhaps because he feels like a fish out of water, or perhaps because the artist has a different sensitivity than the common one, with his eyes he is able to perceive what is not visible to everyone and for us he has created an atypical scenario .

GIUSEPPINA AND NEAPOLITAN REPUBLIC

Exclusively for our project, Studio Visual Gazineo created Mission.

Gabriele Rollin

Gabriele Rollin

Gabriele Rollin is a Neapolitan graphic designer who doesn't like to talk about himself much. In his bio, he writes, " I enjoy designing, drawing, and creating much more than talking about myself ."

A series of works created for his Creativi Tee Shirt brand sparked the idea of collaborating with him. A kind soul who loves Naples even more than we do.

Here's what he thinks of us: ""Napoli" in Italian. "Naples" in English. "Nápoles" in Spanish. Neapolitan Republic, on the other hand, pronounces "Napoli" in the language of art. It pronounces, tells, and illustrates the city through the sensibilities and inspirations of artists and designers from around the world. A new opportunity to fall in love with Partenope ."

GABRIELE and NEAPOLITAN REPUBLIC

Two of his portraits of Naples fascinated us the most and you can find them below: Vico Esclamativo , proposed on T-Shirt and handmade Skateboard and San Gennaro , transported on T-shirt and Bag.

Iabo

Iabo

IABO, contemporary artist and writer. Originally from Naples, he began his career as a writer in the early 1990s.

He created a work dedicated to Basquiat, an American writer and painter, one of the most important exponents of graffiti art, capable of bringing this movement from the streets to art galleries.

IABO and NEAPOLITAN REPUBLIC

Traveling is recreating the world, embracing oneself but discovering the new. This journey of exchange, fusion, and creation is where IABO and Neapolitan Republic met.

Drawing from the Leitmotiv collection of IABO, a contemporary Italian artist, choosing his personal tribute to Jean-Michel Basquiat , reinventing the application of the work's symbols, the t-shirt was born with which to wear art and, subsequently, a series of exclusive prints.

Two complex and lively universes that have generated beauty and value.
Below, the works created for Neapolitan Republic and KBirr.

Drew Lab2

Drew Lab2 - Andrea Villanis

Andrea Villanis, aka Drew Lab2, is a Neapolitan street artist who has lived in Berlin for almost 10 years. She described our project this way:
"In my imagination, Neapolitan Republic represents a container: the container of what, to my gaze, appears as a Proto-Naples 2.0.
Naples is a city of a thousand shades, my city, even though I haven't lived there for over 15 years. It has been born and reborn from its ashes many times, it is precarious yet immortal, it sits at the foot of a volcano, it is multicultural, irreverent, and thousands of years old (we were built by the Cumaeans in the 8th century BC).
Over the millennia, much has been written, sung, said, and painted about Naples. In recent years, the city has clearly reached a new stage in its transformation, and every transformation inherently presupposes forgetfulness. The great insight of a project like Neapolitan Republic is its desire to help guide this transformation: while maintaining a connection to tradition, the project seeks to provide the city with a new perspective and new words for and about itself, and to do so, it chooses to begin with artists.

From those who love Naples near or far, forever or just now, from those born and raised here and those who have just discovered it: from the eyes and mouths of artists from all over the world and from all disciplines. In a world where everyone is closing borders, Naples opens its doors once again... the Siren enchants once again !

ANDREA and NEAPOLITAN REPUBLIC

For us, Andrea created three caligraffiti that are also mandalas, a prayer for our city. The mandala, in fact, is a very powerful spiritual symbol/exercise, which focuses attention and defines a sacred space that aids meditation. If we look at the meaning of the word Mandala , we see that it is translated as circle or even center, that is, an essential and geometric representation of the world/cosmos, a sort of cosmogram that is structured in a very precise way.

Symbolically, the outer ring of the mandala is a kind of barrier of fire that burns away ignorance; the next ring symbolizes enlightenment, then a ring of leaves evokes spiritual rebirth; at the center of this last circle is the actual mandala with the images of the gods.

Andrea manipulated this structure, composing mandalas with words, because words create and establish: Naples is language, words, theater, music, and sound! Here they are below: VesuvioStoria, and Neapolis .

Joseph Di Costanzo

Joseph of Costanzo

Giuseppe Di Costanzo, a Neapolitan architect, lives and works between Naples and Rome, dedicating himself to architecture, interiors, and design.

GIUSEPPE and NEAPOLITAN REPUBLIC

Giuseppe describes Neapolitan Republic as follows : "It's a contemporary reinterpretation of the places and symbols of Neapolitan tradition. It's a new way of thinking about Neapolitanness, open to the dynamism of different cultures, while remaining authentic in its essence."

To talk about Naples, he chose to use one of the five senses: touch. Using lava stone and tuff, he created TAZZI|NA for Neapoltan Republic, in collaboration with Solimene Art , a Vietri ceramist who creates and decorates each piece by hand. Yellow and black, matte and glossy, lava stone and tuff.

TAZZI|NA has a simple yet distinctive design, with strong color contrasts. Its truncated cone shape recalls that of its volcano, while its colors—yellow and black—are inspired by the material the city is made of: lava stone and tuff.

The contrast, in addition to being chromatic, is also perceptible to the touch. The yellow cup is glossy while the black one is matte. A unique piece that Giuseppe dedicated exclusively to Neapolitan Republic, you can discover it below.
